Job Description: Storekeeper
Position: Store Keeper
Location: Dar Es Salaam

Job Summary:
The Store Keeper will be responsible for maintaining stock control of base oil, additives, packing materials (plastics, caps, labels, drums), finished goods, and other production-related inventory. The role includes daily stock monitoring, issuing materials for production, coordinating stock movement, and ensuring proper record-keeping with regular and monthly stock-taking activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Stock Control & Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate records of base oil, additives, plastic packaging, caps, labels, drums, and finished goods.
- Monitor stock levels daily and update reports accordingly.
- Ensure timely issuance of materials to the production team as per work orders.
- Receive, inspect, and verify incoming stock and materials.
- Ensure FIFO (First In, First Out) and FEFO (First Expiry, First Out) inventory management principles are followed.
- Stock Taking & Reporting
- Conduct weekly, and monthly stock reconciliation of raw materials and finished goods.
- Identify stock variances and report discrepancies to the management.
- Maintain proper documentation of GRN (Goods Receipt Notes), stock movement, and stock adjustments.
- Submit monthly stock reports to the management, highlighting critical stock levels and discrepancies.
- Warehouse & Storage Management
- Ensure proper storage and handling of raw materials, additives, and packaging components to prevent damage or contamination.
- Organize the store efficiently for quick retrieval and dispatch of materials.
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards in the store area.
- Coordinate with the production and procurement teams for material requirements and reorder levels.
- Coordination & Compliance
- Liaise with suppliers, transporters, and procurement teams for smooth material flow.
- Ensure compliance with inventory control standards and audit requirements.
- Assist in periodic audits and ensure stock records are up to date and accurate.
- Work closely with the finance team for proper documentation and reporting of stock valuation.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, warehouse management, or storekeeping, preferably in a lubricant or chemical manufacturing plant or
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in inventory management systems (ERP, SAP, Tally, or similar software).
- Knowledge of lubricant raw materials, packaging, and storage standards.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills.
- Soft Skills:
- Good communication and coordination skills. o Attention to detail and problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
