Established 74 years ago, the organization works to protect and care for children who have lost parental care or are at risk of losing it. It operates globally, with 135 locations in countries such as Zanzibar, Arusha, Dar es Salaam, Mwanza, and Iringa. SOS Children’s Villages Tanzania seeks qualified candidates for the following positions:
Job type: Full-time
Job Title: Alternative Care Coordinator
Duty Station: Zanzibar
Reporting to: Program Director
Job Summary: This position leads the Alternative Care unit, ensuring the growth and development of children and youth in family-based care while coordinating education activities and ensuring compliance with SOS policies.
Responsibilities:
- Implement and oversee the Alternative Care program approach.
- Ensure quality care and psychosocial support for children and youth.
- Lead budgeting, planning, and reporting for the AC unit.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Social Work, Sociology, or related field.
- 4-6 years of relevant management experience.
- Experience in child protection, family care, and community development.
