We are now inviting applications for the volunteer Finance and Administrative role from qualified and experienced people to work for Mydia-tz. Preferred qualifications are in the field of Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related fields.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Head of Finance and Administration, the responsibilities of the Finance and Administrative Assistant will include overall responsibility for all aspects of bookkeeping and accounts, procurement support, assets tracking and control, effective financial reporting processing in a timely, accurate, relevant, and informative manner, and general administration or operations duties.
- Assisting with daily accounting transactions, maintaining financial records, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.
- Assisting with budget planning, preparation, revisions, and execution.
- Preparing payment requests and ensuring they are sent to the appropriate people for review and approval.
- Establishing and maintaining internal control procedures, ensuring that accounting standards are met.
- Organizing procurement processes, preparing documents, receiving, and evaluating quotations.
- Supporting communication, travel logistics, ensuring compliance with donors’ rules and regulations, and maintaining an inventory of project and office assets and equipment.
- Drafting project progress reports and assisting external evaluators.
Qualifications and Competencies/Attributes:
The volunteer Finance and Administrative Assistant is expected to have, but not limited to, the following qualities:
i. University Degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration.
ii. Proven track record of managing organizational or project budgets, procurements, and admin/operations duties.
iii. At least two years previous volunteer experience within a similar position, preferably working with NGOs/INGOs.
iv. Good writing skills, time management, and excellent attention to detail.
v. Computer literacy, expert on MS applications especially Word and Excel.
vi. Excellent interpersonal skills, proven team building, organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
vii. Innovative, flexible, disciplined, goal-oriented, and willing to learn.
Office Offer:
This is a volunteer role, and successful candidates will work physically at the office, on a part-time basis. The office will only offer a monthly communication allowance, as per our Mydia-tz policies.
Note: Mydia-tz is a small organization and works with different stakeholders on a voluntary basis. While we value our tireless efforts provided by our volunteers, Mydia-tz is unable to pay salaries or allowances other than the communication allowance due to budgetary constraints unless for staff working specifically on a funded project.

Preference will be given to applicants who have experience/skills in financial and administration/operations management and who are currently residents of Kasulu town, in Kigoma Region. Qualified young women and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
