Insurance Manager
The Insurance Manager will be responsible for planning, for planning, managing, leading and directing the insurance agency business across all the Banks’ touch points, to achieve set business targets.
THE ROLE
• Marketing of all insurance products both life and non-life products and ensure all claims are well managed as per agreed TAT
• Provide the main link between the bank, Insurance companies and Insurance agency to customers.
• Develop and execute an overall Business Plan to all branches in line with the annual plans.
• Organize in liaison with other business units, activities for promoting the Bank’s Insurance business Ensuring Compliance with Local Insurance
• Attend meetings, seminars and programs to learn and develop new Insurance business products
• Manage relationship with business partners and all other stakeholders.
• To ensure that there is adequate insurance cover to our retail portfolio according to the needs of business and the bank.
• Developing and continuously reviewing integrated management information systems designed to assist the bank in planning and controlling their operations in relation to insurance.
• Ensure compliance with the requirements of the Insurance Act regulations, policies and procedures as amended from time to time
• Liaise with marketing to ensure insurance agency business of the bank is promoted aggressively in order to attract customers, in line with the annual plans.
• To ensure that branch adequately provide insurance cover for all customers ‘mortgaged properties
/collaterals covering loans and overdrafts
• To prepare monthly performance report of the Insurance Unit and submit to the management on monthly basis.
• To supervise work of all staff within the Insurance Unit jurisdiction and carry out any other duties as may be assigned by superiors.
THE CANDIDATE
• University Degree majoring in insurance and risk management
• Certificate in insurance/experience in sales and marketing of insurance products or its equivalent or actuarial studies
• A minimum of 5 years of banking experience 3 years of which in Insurance with good track record.
• A comprehensive knowledge of Tanzanian Insurance business
• Strong analytical and numerical skills for calculation of statistics, figures and targets
• Ability to deal professionally, confidently and effectively with staff at all levels, internally and externally
• Competency in Computer skills
• Good interpersonal and negotiation Skills
• Good communication Skills both written and oral
