OVERVIEW OF THE FUNCTIONS OF THE POST
The Education for Health and Wellbeing (EHW) Junior Programme Assistant post will be based in Dar es Salaam, reporting to the National Professional Officer – Education for Health and Wellbeing and providing support towards the implementation of UBRAF work under the UNESCO Dar es Salaam Office portfolio. S/he will be responsible for providing programmatic support to ensure effective, planning, implementation, and monitoring of UNESCO’s work on EHW related to “empowering Adolescent Girls and Young Women & Boys (AGYWB) in education and community settings to actively engage on HIV response including on Violence & Bullying prevention”. Specifically, s/he will provide support on the introduction of Girls Safe Space Clubs in selected secondary schools & folk development colleges; implementation of HIV self-test literacy program; introduction of HIV post-test clubs in selected HTEIs; and implementation of digital literacy, online safety & SRHR dialogues. The incumbent will also assist the Project Assistant – EHW in day-to-day administrative related work and support to the EHW Country Team.
Long Description
The incumbent will specifically;
Under the guidance of NPO and in consultation with ANPOs support the development, implementation, and monitoring of Girls Safe Space clubs’ initiative including referral mechanism in secondary schools and folk colleges
Under the guidance of NPO-EHW and in consultation with the EHW Communication Officer support the development, implementation, and monitoring of digital literacy & online safety related interventions; youth-led SRHR online dialogues, and promotion of the use of Afya Call Center (199).
Under the guidance of NPO-EHW and in consultation with the EHW Communication Officer & APOs (Cluster Coordinators) lead the development, implementation and monitoring of the HIV self-test literacy and introduction of HIV posttest clubs in selected HTEIs.
Under the guidance of Project Assistant-EHW, assist in organizing, supporting, and coordinating the preparation, conducting, and reporting of relevant meetings, trainings, and workshops. This will include travel, logistics arrangements and financial reporting on funds used during an activity.
Provide rapporteuring support during meetings and submission of activity reports.
Provide assistance to the Project Assistant – EHW where/when needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
1. Academic requirement
A first degree in education, public health, social sciences, or program management
2. Years of relevant work experience
At least one year of relevant work experience in AGYW&B health related interventions
Work experience on implementing online health education and digital literacy program.
Work experience or volunteer/intern with international organization and or with the UN Agency is added advantage.
3. Competencies

Literacy in Microsoft office i.e., MS Excel, MS word etc

Fluency (oral and written) in English.

BENEFITS AND ENTITLEMENTS
UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits, which may include, if applicable: 30 days annual leave, reimbursement of medical insurance (up to 5% of base salary), pension plan (up to 10% of base salary), etc. The annual base salary of G1 for Tanzania is TZS 26,225,000.
