ANNOUNCEMENT OF COMMUNITY HEALTH WORKER POSITIONS
The Government of the United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Health and the President’s Office Regional Administration and Local Government (OR-TAMISEMI) is implementing the Community Health Workers Integrated Program in the country. Through this program, the Government has established a procedure to recruit qualified Health Workers, provide training, and deploy Community Health Workers in the implementation of Integrated Health, Nutrition, and Community Welfare interventions where the program requires two (2) Health Workers, one male and one female, for each Ward/Street.
In implementing this program, the Ministry of Health, in collaboration with the President’s Office – TAMISEMI, informs the citizens that the first phase of this program will begin in 10 regions and two (2) districts per region as shown in the table:

Furthermore, the implementation of this program will continue in phases in all regions and districts of mainland Tanzania. Qualified citizens within the 10 regions shown in the table above are encouraged to apply for Community Health Worker positions in all Wards/Streets within their districts. All applications should be submitted to the District Directors, who will oversee the selection of qualified Health Workers among the applicants, following the provided Guidelines.
Applicant qualifications:
a) Must have official identification such as National Identification Card (NIDA) or Passport or Driver’s License or Voter Identification Card; b) Must have completed Secondary Education (at least Form Four) and possess a Leaving Certificate; c) Must be a resident currently living in the respective Ward/Village and Street; d) Must be familiar with the language, culture, customs, and traditions of the respective community; e) Must be culturally and ethically acceptable to the respective community; f) Must not have a history of criminal activities including gender-based violence and violence against children; g) Must be diligent, hardworking, and have a commitment to serving the community; h) Must be trustworthy and capable of keeping client information confidential; i) Must be ready and able to work in the respective Ward or Street; and j) Must be between the ages of 18 and 55.
Applications should be submitted to the Ward Executive Officer’s Office accompanied by:
a) Handwritten job application letter signed by the applicant; b) Copy of Form IV Leaving Certificate; c) Two (2) Passport size photographs; d) Personal resume (CV), indicating age, full address, and mobile phone number, as well as the addresses/mobile phone numbers of at least two (2) sponsors; e) Confirmation letter from the Village/Street Executive Officer of the applicant’s area of residence.
The deadline for submitting these applications is two (2) weeks from the date of this announcement. Further instructions are available through the respective Ward Executive Officer’s Offices.
