Work tasks

The Project Officers (Agronomy) will implement all aspects of the ELCAP program in Iramba, Ikungi and Manyoni districts in Tanzania. She/He will be required to apply a wide variety of livelihood development tools and approaches to catalyze innovative services and facilitate linkages between market actors in the assigned project area. The Project officer will work directly with Project Coordinator at SF and collaborate with the other consortium members for technical guidance. The Project Officer (Agronomy) will have the overall responsibility to support project development, coordination, monitoring, promotion, and development of ELCAPs livelihoods activities (these include but not limited to: promotion of Climate Smart agriculture practices, management of Saving Producer groups, Gender and Disability inclusion, Innovation and adoption of new technologies, promotion of green economy practices, Food Security, Life skills training, linking smallholder farmers to market actors and waste management practices. The project officer (Agronomy) will work in hand with the government counterparts at all levels in the mapping and identification and capacity strengthening of farmers groups in the project and maintain this collaboration for sustainability.


Qualifications

Interested candidates must hold a bachelors degree in agriculture, agribusiness, Social Science or any other related field from a reputable academic instituti

Candidates should possess a minimum of three-years experience in development programs where they have managed Livelihoods projects focusing on Commercial Agricultural Production, facilitating group formation, facilitating training to Smallholder farmers on livelihood interventions and a strong collaboration with government and other stakeholders. Other competences The suitable Candidate should demonstrate strong (English) verbal and written communication, mobilization skills and ability
