Vacancy Announcement- HR Associate
Six Rivers Africa (SRA) is a non-profit organization with a mission to protect, restore, and preserve wilderness areas, and increase the wildlife population so that the flora and fauna can be enjoyed for generations to come.
Six Rivers Africa is recruiting an experienced HR Associate to be responsible for providing comprehensive HR support and services to the HR team and the Organization as a whole. The HR Associate will work closely with the Head of HR and other members of the HR team to ensure that HR policies and procedures are effectively implemented and maintained.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process, including drafting JDs and advertising roles, conducting interviews, and completing reference checks.
- Assist in coordinating new hire orientation and onboarding processes for all new employees.
- Assist in maintaining employee records, including personnel files, contact renewals, all types of leaves, and keeping track of employee training documentation.
- Support the implementation of performance management processes including setting objectives, providing feedback, and supporting performance reviews.
- Assist in the implementation of the HR policies and procedures in compliance with the Tanzanian labor laws.
- Assist in managing employee relation issues including grievances, disciplinary matters, and conflict resolution.
- Participate in disciplinary matters such as carrying out investigations, sending warning letters, and being a member of the disciplinary hearing committee.
- Assist with employee benefits and compensation packages.
- Active liaison between management and staff.
- Provided administrative support with payroll information, compensation materials calendars, meetings, and training events to specific departments.
- Administrative work such as inventory of stationery, and backup HR Officer.
QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in an HR role preferably in a not-for-profit sector.
- Working knowledge of the Tanzanian labor laws and regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently as part of a team in a multicultural organizational setting.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office package.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills coupled with good listening and critical reasoning skills.
