Job Description
The role holder will grow agriculture business, assess manage the risks and support the claims adjustment process and business to achieve growth and profitability of this class of business
Carry out risk surveys for all agriculture risks and prepare reports on potential business in order to better understand the risks.
Promote and sensitize the crop and livestock insurance product to the entire agriculture sector through field days, exhibitions, media, trade fares, farm visits.
To acquire and develop agriculture business.
Engage with re-insurers to develop/refine agricultural insurance products that suit the needs of the local market in order to profitably grow this line of business.
Assess, evaluate, and rate risks to ensure the company accepts and retains quality business.
Provide expert advice during the claim’s adjustment process, including crop loss assessment and adjustment at the time of loss and livestock claims review.
Carry out crop inspections, that is, Emergence, mid-season, and pre-harvest risk surveys on insured crops to assess, monitor and evaluate crop condition as well as loss if any and advice the company on progress.
Ensure timely and accurate agriculture quotations and follow ups.
Ensure accuracy of renewal notice and timely dispatch and maintain a monthly report.
Respond to correspondence, queries, and complaints on agricultural insurance for efficient service delivery.
Train and sensitize staff, intermediaries, and other stakeholders in the agricultural industry in order to create awareness.
Ensure that renewals for agriculture business are done in a timely manner in order to enhance customer retention.
Ensure that Underwriting files are well documented, and all communications and transactions are recorded.
Monitor performance matrix of different SLAs.
Work with supervisor/seniors to ensure there is an ongoing improvement process in place.
Ensure underwriting data accuracy and completeness.
Satisfactory carry out any other activities and/or tasks given by the Management
