The State Capital Potsdam, in collaboration with Zanzibar Municipal Urban Council, is sseking eligible and Qualified applicants for the position of Technicak Coordinator in the project for Implementation Urban City Biocooling.
We expect an offer of an daily honoratium from the applicant for the described position, at Zanzibar town for an period 26 month, with 104 work days in total.
The BioCooling of Zanzibar City project was conceptualised, as part of an practical development program for municipal partnerships between german and african municipalities. The funding comes from and will be paid post holder from Germany, State Capital Potsdam.
The position is for a senoir program specialist and key technical advisor to the Biocooling Project Coordination Office Zanzibar and Potsdam, responsible for supporting the development of knowledge and raisingf acceptance of biocooling amongst residents of Zanzibar City, organization of activities in implementation and documentary at the municipal level in Zanzibar. The position works at a project management level with the project Leader from State Capital Potsdam in collaboration with Zanzibar Municipal Urban Council, implementing partners, and Government of Zanzibar counterparts.
The BioCooling project develops at minimum 3 patters of natural based multistory shading schemes for three different types of heat risk point inside of Zanzibar City. Therefore the City structure must be analysed and structure types must be identfied and describe. Historical botanical shading systems must be identified and analysed. The most suitable shading plants must be identified and an herbarium sheet for an minimum of 35 plants must be written. The communities must be trained in planting and caring the new city green.

Requirements:
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of 15 years of progressively responsible, professional experience specializing in development, implemantaion, monitoring and evaluation within a environment protection, botanic science or forestry-related organization, research organization, or freelancing environment protection implementing agency in Zanzibar is required.
EDUCATION: Master`s degree or host country equivalent in botanic, forestry and environment Science with specialization in monitoring and evaluation is required.
LANGUAGE: Fluent (reading, writing, speaking) in English and Kiswahili is required. “This may be tested.”
