Geita Gold Mining Ltd (GGML) is Tanzania’s leading gold producer with a single operation in Geita Region. The company is a subsidiary of AngloGold Ashanti, an international gold producer headquartered in South Africa, with operations in more than ten countries, in four continents. The mine is situated in the Lake Victoria Gold fields of Northwestern Tanzania, only about 85 km’s from Mwanza City and 20 km’s Southeast of the nearest point of Lake Victoria. PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:

To ensure that all building system, equipment, and facilities are operate at peak efficiency. Oversee maintenance and inspection, planning, propose and review design ideas, quality control, monitor all project at the area of responsibility as well as monitoring  and management of work management system.

 

            QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering/FTC in Mechanical Engineering or Civil and Architectual.

             EXPERIENCE:

  • 3 – 5 years working experience as a supervisor preferably in Mining , Cement or Petrochemical industry.

 

             MAIN OR KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Learn, understand, and follow AGA Health, Safety and Security Policies and Procedures.
  • Assembling and fittings of various plant equipments (pumps, valves, and pipes) to improve site infrastructure performance.
  • Planned safety inspections, Critical Control Verification, Planned Task Observations, Safe Work Observations and Quality control.
  • Keeping of Infrastructure facilities inventory and updating on regular basis.
  • Supervision and implementation of scheduled inspections on infrastructure systems.
  • Management of general installations for offices, ablutions, kitchens, workshops, fencing etc.
  • Ensure that mobile equipment is serviced as per the planned maintenance schedule.
  • Planning, coordination, and closure of work requests, planned works and emergency works.
  • Manage utilities system including water pumps and sewage pumps.
  • Supervision of repairs, maintenance and management of infrastructure systems  and facilities.

 

            ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Light vehicle driver’s license and able to drive a manual vehicle(Class B,C or D)
  • Project Management Skills
  • Relevant professional registration
  • Be able to understand instructions both in Swahili and English languages
  • Computer Skills(AutoCAD, ArchiCAD, Ms Word, Ms Excel, Ms Project  and Ms PowerPoint)
  • Excellent in Pipe work fittings, HDPE, Steel, PVC pipes and pumps
  • Ability to read and interpret service and spare parts manuals and make technical drawings
  • Ability to compile written reports
  • Ability to make fast responsible and ethical decisions
