Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Reports to: Project Manager
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer to design, develop, and maintain electrical systems and components for a range of applications. The successful candidate will work on a variety of projects, from concept through to completion, and will collaborate with other engineers, technicians, and project managers to ensure project goals are met. The role requires a strong understanding of electrical engineering principles, as well as experience with CAD software and other relevant tools.
Requirements:
- Design, develop, and test electrical systems and components using industry-standard tools and software.
- Collaborate with other engineers and technical staff to ensure project requirements are met.
- Perform detailed calculations to establish design specifications and standards.
- Create and review technical drawings, specifications, and schematics.
- Analyse and interpret data, including performance metrics, to identify and resolve design and operational issues.
- Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of transformer theory, design, and testing.
- Experience with simulation tools such as ETAP, PSCAD, and EMTP-RV.
- Testing and Commissioning of Transformer (150KVA up to 315MVA) Differential protection and REF protection.
- Able to inspect control and relay panels, and preparation of Test Report and cable schedule and then scheme Modification for sub-station.
- Knowledge and skills in Trouble shooting all Electrical circuits, control and protection circuits of Substations, Switchyard.
- Able to build cable schedule submission and all site activity to satisfy the customer.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ Experience
- Prior Experience in Tanesco Related Projects is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and industry standards.
- Proficiency with CAD software, such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Experience working in a project-based environment.
