COMMUNICATIONS LEAD-KABANGA
Position Summary:
Tembo Nickel is seeking to recruit a Communications Lead to join Tembo Nickel Project Team. This role is based at Kabanga site. The Communications Lead will be responsible for the internal and External Communications. The successful candidate for this role will report to the Communications & Corporate Affairs Manager and Site General Manager. The successful candidate will be on 6/3 Roster.
Principal Accountability
- Participate in drafting Communication strategy, planning, budgeting, and ensuring its implementation, o Support technical teams in matters requiring external community stakeholder communication support including identifying and advising on areas of strategic communications, field communications related campaigns, documentation, and branding.
- Work closely with the Communications and Corporate Affairs team to ensure implementation of communication plan and adherence of company guidelines and standards.
- Work closely with the Communications and Corporate Affairs team and Community Relations team to amplify messages to key stakeholders within the community.
- Develop and sustain relationship with the local media and key corporate stakeholders in Kagera including Company’s content amplification allies.
- Supervise the documentation and story telling of company’s activities as per plans and strategies,
- Planning and executing communication campaigns.
- Writing, Editing and proofreading multiformat content including message copywriting,
- Support the Digital Media officer and Media Officer to oversee the design and delivery of creative operations.
Qualifications/Experience required.
- BA. degree in communications, journalism, public relations, or a related field,
- Not less than 7 years of working experience in the respective field.
- Documentation experience: Documentaries production, photography, and videography and strong experience of working with communication agencies.
- Experience providing communication support to multiple departments/teams.
- Corporate branding experience.
- Media relations skills and ability to manage media enquiries.
- Be of Swahili mother tongue with outstanding communication skills both written and oral in English and Swahili,
- Swahili to English and English to Swahili translation experience,
- Experience in managing communication for corporate development projects,
- Ability to translate complex business information into engaging content,
- Journalistic and creative writing skills,
- Multimedia Content writing and production experience,
- Ability to advise on communication policies, processes, and procedures.
